The 1977 UPVU purge was a public purge of the Union Party of the Vlokozu Union orchestrated by Michael Vlokozu on November 2, 1977. In the purge, 72 members of the Union Party were dragged away from parliament by the SSV over their opposition of the Vlokozu Union annexation of Vicnora and their support of Katashi Ito.
Background[]
On July 14, 1977, 26 men of the Vlokozuian Army attempted to assassinate Michael Vlokozu in his residence in El Kadsre City. The raid was unsuccessful, leaving 24 soilders killed and 2 arrested. Katashi Ito, the then-president of the Vlokozu Union, subsequently attempted to cover up its involvement by making claims that the Soviet spies are responsible. Less than three months later after SSV found evidence Ito was behind the raid after one solider who was the perpetrator of the raid confessed about Ito being behind the raid and the Soviet Union's denial of the raid, Katashi resigned from office to avoid the impeachment trail and fled to the Philippines in exile.
On September 23, 1977, the Vlokozu Union annexed Vicnora under the command of Michael Vlokozu shortly after the provisional Vlokist government overthrew the Vicnoran monarchy. 114 members of the United Nations, the had recognized the Vlokozuian State of Vicnora as the Vlokozu Union's illegal occupation of Vicnora's land. One fourth of the members of the Union Party of the Vlokozu Union have opposed Michael's decision to take over Vicnora. 12 out of 22 UN Security Council members (the Soviet Union, Vizhutuan Federation, Benin, Libya, Pakistan, India, Usheigep, Isandarual, Panama, Romania, and Narthernee) supported the United Nations Security Council Resolution condemning the Vlokozuian annexation of Vicnora. 7 UN Security Council members (Canada, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, France, the Vlokozu Union, and Cadasa) veto the resolution, with 4 (the United States, China, Esperantist Oza, and Mauritius) abstaing.

On November 2, Vlokozu convened an session of parliament in the parliament house. During the assembly, which he ordered videotaped to be aired live on Vlokozu Television, Vlokozu makes an statement about his second assassination attempt and having the SSV to investiate the conspiracy to overthrow him. Vlokozu then introduces the parliament to Upton Joiner, the then-executive of the SSV, who informed the parliament that Katashi Ito was behind in the conspiracy to assassinate Michael Vlokozu and he was sent into exile. In addition, Joiner also said that the SSV have uncovered the conspiracy created by the Viknakaist sympathizers stage the coup as revenge for the Vlokozu Union's annexation of Vicnora. Joiner gave the names of the 72 alleged co-conspirators, 25 of them supported Katashi Ito and 47 of them were opposed to Vlokozu Union's occupation of Vicnora. The opposition parties of the Vlokozuian Labor Party, the Vlokozuian Communist Party and independent politicans witness the UPVU members being removed by the SSV officers from the room one by one as their names were called and taken into custody. After the list was read, Vlokozu congratulated those who were still seated in the room . Those arrested at the meeting were tried together and found guilty of treason. While 36 men were sent into exile and 16 were sent to prison, 20, including two former Vlokozuian premiers Ruru O'Nonu and Tikal Dammam, were executed by the firing squad near the Vloksville quarry.
