The opening ceremony of the 2017 Pan American Games took place on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Pan/Parapan Am Stadium in Caelum, Nakatori, El Kadsre, beginning at 8:00 p.m., EDT. The opening ceremony was produced and directed by El Kadsreian director, Brandon Kane, and the Games were officially opened by President Ryo Kimura.
The opening ceremony was presented in English, Japanese and Spanish, the three official languages of the host country.

The El Kadsreian president, Ryo Kimura, IOC president, Thomas Bach and Panam Sports president, Neven Ilić, were introduced to the crowd.
The song "Eternal Life" was then performed by Mexican rock violinist Miro Caballero, American-El Kadsreian singer Cassandra Louise and Chilean heavy metal singer and actor Taylor Garth.
