1998-2009[]

AOA received a major rebrand (designed by Pittard-Sullivan) on December 31st, 1997, featuring three red circles.

On May 1st, 1999, AOA launched a high definition feed, named AOA HD. It was one of the first cable networks to launch a high definition feed. However, it wasn't until the analog switch that the feed would start to attract more viewers. In the year 2000, the HD feed only had 1 million viewers. During 2009, the feed would attract 15 million viewers across the country.

Throughout 1999, the company held talks regarding the sale of their stakes to Sony Pictures Television for 500 million dollars. On January 30, 2000, this transaction was completed, leading to Sony having full ownership over the brand.
