Amanda Craughwell (born April 15, 1988) is a Canadian actress, voice actress, filmmaker, and writer from Prince Edward Island. She is mostly known for being the current voice of Eckhart Fielding in the Eckhart franchise.

Early life

Amanda was born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island to a Irish-Canadian father, Dennis Craughwell, and Acadian mother, Geneviève Craughwell. She graduated from Three Oaks Senior High School in 2007 and was her class valedictorian, giving a speech at the graduation ceremony.

Career

Voice of Eckhart

Amanda was performing in the Charlottetown Festival in 2003 when her mother heard a new voice actor for Eckhart Fielding was needed. As Amanda was a fan of Eckhart, she excitedly agreed that she would audition and went to Hotel Charlottetown for the audition.

She auditioned with two other Charlottetown Festival performers - a woman in her early-30s, and Amanda's friend Daisy Torechilla (the Filipina daughter of a OFW). She was asked to read lines from earlier episodes and portray some emotions.

Voicing Eckhart for the fourth season of the series and the Thanksgiving special Thanks! From Eckhart at the age of 15, she would then voice the character in Eckhart's Big Mysteries and has since voiced Eckhart in multiple video games and many commercials.

On ETVKK's Grow Show, she cited "Macarena" as her favorite song to have performed Eckhart in for the Latikuu Edacra Video Parties.

Other Works

She is otherwise best known for performing Leah Abraham, the cousin-in-law of Ed Astle, in a few story arcs of the RKO Network soap opera The Emergency Room. She was nominated for a Golden Maple Award for her role in 2015.

Personal life

Amanda divides her time between Charlottetown, Toronto and Los Angeles. She is a member of ACTRA Maritimes and SAG-AFTRA. She is currently married to voice actor / puppeteer Thomas Hosek as of 2018.

She is a fan of the Montreal Expos.
