TVChoice is a service operating three special packages offered on C-band satellite and some cable systems, broadcast to viewers who mainly live in remote and distant locations. The package consists of five packages - one with local TV stations from the Eastern and Midwestern US, one with local TV stations from the West Coast, one with Denver TV stations, one with Canadian TV stations and one with Mexican TV stations. The services are broadcast via the Aritosat 10 satellite and are encrypted via DigiCipher 2, though some stations have free-to-air periods (such as during local programming and news). The service is owned by Interstate Broadcasting of Rosemont, Illinois. TVChoice was created in 1994 by Interstate to compete with Primetime 24.
