Battle for Dream Island (BFDI) is an American animated pornographic action dark fantasy surrealist black comedy-drama satire television series created by Cary and Michael Nobody, collectively known as the Nobody brothers, for Fox. It premiered on September 24, 2010 to generate interest for the show out of fear that nobody would watch it, with the rest of the first season airing from October 22, 2010. The series is a blatant rip-off of follows a bunch of anthropomorphic inanimate objects competing for fame/money/some other prize/IDGAF. The show's idea of comedy is constant shit jokes, Total Drama stupid-ass pop culture references, andbad attempts at self-awareness.
The Nobody brothers conceived Battle for Dream Island after watching Total Drama on LSD. They combined their two brain cells to create a show suspiciously similar in nature and pitched it to Fox, which picked it up because the network's entire Broadcast Standards and Practices department was high on cannabis and they needed a fail-safe in case House or Bluey Gost ended.
The show has received critical acclaim for its "sex appeal" and "unique visual design".
