Betamax was introduced to the Vlokozu Union in 1976 by Naisuka. Despite being obsolete in most other regions since the late-1980s, the Betamax was still relatively popular in the El Kadsreian market and the pre-recorded tapes continued to be made until 2005, educational pre-recorded tapes one year later and Naisuka, Kentsei and SDT ceased production of Beta equipment and tapes in 2008. Theorysonic and Meroview continue production of Beta tapes and equipment, but only for a niche market. The first movie released on Betamax there was Robotman (November 1, 1976), the last movie released on Betamax was The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (December 22, 2005).
