Betix (Borundian pronunciation: [βetik͡s]) is a Borundian unlicensed children's community television station broadcasting from the Hanty district of Banonkor. Often known as a Jetix clone, it typically airs programming from the defunct Jetix dubbed in Borundian, and airs from 2 pm in the afternoon to 7 pm in the evening every weekends. It broadcasts on UHF channel 21 in Hanty, and channel 27 in the rest of the city. It is often regarded as the sister station of BoomBoX TV, due to the same owners. It began broadcasting in circa 2010 with government permission after the closure of Jetix itself in the Nesionytan Islands. Via satellite, the station broadcasts nationwide and is also receivable in neighboring Nuhinba and Awanzoria.

Betix did not gain its name prior to 2011, when the station was just referred to as 'New Jetix' (Haytan Djetiks). Its name is a portmanteau of 'Borundian Jetix', and officially adopted its logo in 2012, which parodies that of Jetix's. The station applied for a license in 2013, but was rejected since they might get sued by Disney. It applied again in 2017 but was declined again for the same reason. As of now, the station remains unlicensed. It is reported that Feysal Abdolla, who formerly worked as a voice actor, runs Betix. It is one of Borundia's most popular pirated television stations.

History

Prior to 2009, the Nesionytan feed of Jetix was one of the most watched children's television channels in Borundia, mostly due to its programming. It was replaced with Disney XD in November 2009, which led to severe downfall of television among Borundian children, as they start to embrace the internet. A former voice actor who worked for Jetix, Feysal Abdolla, planned to bring the Jetix legacy back. He first applied for a license in early 2010 to launch his television channel, but was rejected. However, he was granted permission to operate a station without license.

In circa mid-2010, Abdolla began airing Jetix programs on UHF channel 17, which attracted the country's youth, predominantly the ones who grew up with Jetix. The station was referred to as 'New Jetix' due to its programming. In 2011, Abdolla began referring to his station as 'Betix'. He based off Jetix's logo for his station's logo and used it since 2012. Later, he applied for an official license for Betix, but due to the name being similar to Jetix, the Borundian Telecommunications Authority declined a license to prevent Abdolla being sued by The Walt Disney Company. Abdolla applied for a license again in 2017, but for the same reason, it was declined.
