The animated kids' series Bluey was first introduced to the Republic of Wilson in November 2019 on the DIsney Channel apart of its Sunrise TV block. When it began airing, it was first received with mixed reviews solely because of the show's humor, however slowly grew a cult following. In mid-2020, merchandise began being sold by manufacturer Playwright Toys to various retailers, including Toys "R" Us and Ames Department Stores. In December, VHS releases from MAP Video began being sold, and by 2021 the series had become one of the most watched shows on the Disney Channel. It would later debut on ABC's Saturday Morning kids block on October 15, 2022.

The series was one of twelve original shows included in a joint venture between DIsney and the Yellowjacket Group to form a kids block on Spike TV in April 2022, in which the block would air on Saturday mornings. The show would be pulled out in June 2023 for unknown reasons. The show is free to view on Rocket Cable's on demand service, and can be viewed on Disney+.

Controversy[]

In 2024, people raised concerns over the WIlsonian fandom and its toxicity, including a report by the Strokebolt Magazine from 2023 in which a 27-year-old was arrested for assaulting a 6-year-old over a Bluey plush toy in Eureka Flat. The show was also panned as one episode contained the phrase ooga booga, which, since 1994, has been considered a slur toward black people in the nation; the slur and similar sayings would eventually be replaced with phrases from the language of the Skerra people, who were native to the McNallan plains in the country.
