Boing is a Kuboian free-to-air television channel owned by Turner Broadcasting Networks Kuboia. Based on the Italian television channel of the same name, it was launched on 26th September 2005, and currently airs both Turner-owned and other programming.

History[]

Boing was launched on 26th September 2005 exclusive to the free-to-air Teleview service. The channel originally broadcast everyday from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and was intended as a "preview" of content that was airing on Cartoon Network Kuboia and Boomerang. After Cartoon Network Kuboia was shut down in October 2013, Boing was launched in its place on pay television services, which allowed it to expand to a 24-hour schedule.

Programming[]

In its early years, Boing's programming consisted almost entirely of programmes from Cartoon Network Kuboia and Boomerang's library. From 2013, it began to broadcast a mixture of original and acquired programming.

  • Craft Academy
  • Staraoke

Programming blocks[]

Boing Tonight[]

Running every night from 10:00p.m. to 4:00a.m., Boing Tonight is the channel's nighttime programming block aimed at an older audience. It airs mostly animated sitcoms like Bob's Burgers, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, Futurama and The Simpsons.

Cartoonito[]

Cartoonito is a pre-school programming block that airs everyday from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. It had previously aired on Cartoon Network Kuboia from 2010 before moving to Boing in 2013.

Other services[]

Boing +1[]

A one-hour timeshift service, Boing +1, was launched in October 2010.

Nederlands Boing[]

A Dutch-language version of the channel, Nederlands Boing, was launched in October 2010. It has an almost-identical schedule to the main Boing channel, but airs programming and advertisements in the Dutch language. When the main channel started broadcasting for 24 hours in 2013, Nederlands Boing initially only aired from 6:00a.m. to 10:00p.m., though it eventually moved into a 24-hour timeslot in December 2017.
