Cartoon Network (Israel)

Cartoon Network is an Israeli children's television channel launched on August 1, 1998. It targets Hebrew children aged 8-16.

History[]

Cartoon Network Israel launched on August 1, 1998, initially broadcasting exclusively on Golden Channels cable television. It later expanded in 2000 after being added as one of the launch channels of Yes, and later expanded further after Golden Channels merged with Matav and Tevel to create Hot.

Initially, the channel used to sign on at 6:00 AM and sign-off at 12:00 AM. Since 2005, Cartoon Network Israel is always on air, broadcasting reruns of older programming for 6 hours from midnight to 6 AM. Also since 2005, the time from 8:00 PM to midnight has been occupied by a local version of Adult Swim (stylized in Hebrew as [מְבוּגָר לשחות]).
