Chiclete is an Asian pay television channel operated by ComuChi Multimédia.

Chiclete programming consists of Anime series and movies, East Asian series, movies and music.

Its programming is completely dubbed in some of the languages ​​of the countries where it is broadcasted, where it is also possible to watch the original language of the program through the Dual Audio system, where the continuity switches to English.

There are others who only have access to programming with the original audio and subtitles, while continuity remains in English.

History[]

Aniplus Asia[]

The channel was first launched in March 2014 on Singaporean pay-TV provider Singtel TV.

In August 2015, it partnered with OTT platform iflix to distribute 21 of their titles via its VOD service.

In June 2016, Aniplus Asia started to be distributed in Thailand on free-to-air channel Now26 as a programming block, thanks to a partnership deal with Mediaplex International.

In September, it was launched in Hong Kong on video streaming site Le.com. In November, it was picked up by streaming website Tribe in Indonesia, and it reached the Philippines in December on that same platform.

In January 2017, Aniplus Asia partnered with Philippine free-to-air television channel TV5 to revive their ANiMEGA anime programming block. In February, it was launched in Malaysia on the streaming service, Astro Go. In May of that same year, it was picked up by Sky Cable in the Philippines.

On May 25, 2018, the channel was made available on Easy TV Home in the Philippines.

In November, 2018, the purchase of the parent company of Aniplus Asia by Gomacom was completed, the company was absorbed by ComuChi Multimédia, operating as its Asian branch. The streaming and on-demand partnerships it held were ended and some broadcasters stopped broadcasting the channel.

Chiclete Asia[]

On November 7, 2018, after the purchase of the channel, Chiclete created two feeds to replace the channel on the countries who received it, Hong Kong and Singapore received the Mandarin feed, and the Philippines received the Asia feed, which also premiered on the same day in Thailand, with Tagalog and Thai audio tracks, respectively. In Indonesia and Malaysia, the channel's broadcasts ended on the 5th.

On December 14th, the Asia feed debuted a Mongolian audio track, now broadcasting in Mongolia.

On February 25, 2019, the feed arrived in Vietnam with a Vietnamese audio track.

On September 30th, Easy TV Home ceased operations, leading to the end of the channel's broadcasts by the operator.

On October 3rd, Asia feed reached Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos and Nepal with English continuity and subtitles in local languages.
