Rattata, the Mouse Pokemon

The Clevelandian Rattata is a Psychic-Normal type Pokemon introduced in June 1990 in Pokemon West and East. It evolves to the Clevelandian Raticate starting at level 20, which evolves to Ratiwreck starting at level 35.

Description


This regional form of Rattata resembles a pink rat with some purple fur and whiskers. It has a long tail, and has sharp front teeth.

West: Its psychic energy allows Rattata to bite its foe with ease, flinching it in the process. It seems to be rivals with the Kanto Rattata.

East: Living in psychokinetic houses, Rattata can use its special move, Psycho Bite.

Moveset:


Tackle (Level 1) A physical attack in which the user charges and slams into the target with its whole body.

Tail Whip (Level 1) The user wags its tail cutely, making opposing Pokémon less wary and lowering their Defense stat.

Quick Attack (Level 4) The user lunges at the target at a speed that makes it almost invisible. This move always goes first.

Confusion (Level 7) The target is hit by a weak telekinetic force. This may also confuse the target.

Psycho Bite (Level 10) The used bites with psychic-energy fangs. This may also make the target flinch or paralyzed.

Reflect (Level 13) A wondrous wall of light is put up to reduce damage from physical attacks for five turns.

Hyper Fang (Level 16) The user bites hard on the target with its sharp front fangs. This may also make the target flinch.

Telekinesis (Level 19) The user makes the target float with its psychic power. The target is easier to hit for three turns.

Zen Headbutt (Level 22) The user focuses its willpower to its head and attacks the target. This may also make the target flinch.

Kinesis (Level 25) The user distracts the target by bending a spoon. This lowers the target's accuracy.

Psywave (Level 28) The target is attacked with an odd psychic wave. The attack varies in intensity.

Double-Edge (Level 31) A reckless, life-risking tackle. This also damages the user quite a lot.

Psychic (Level 34) The target is hit by a strong telekinetic force. This may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat.

  • Along with Spinewt and Finchill, Rattata has at least one move to decrease its foe's accuracy.
  • It is one of the few Pokemon with regional forms.
