Colour TV is an instrumental created by Jetanie band Boxbots, released as a single in 1987. The group had originally produced the song in 1984, partially with digital equipment, which was rare and expensive at the time of the recording. Due to being used heavily in the media, the song has recharted several times.

Usage in media

  • The song was used in advertisements for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in some countries.
  • The song was used in advertisements for the Technic in El Kadsre and Japan.
  • The song was used in the 2003 Kuboian film Telethon, and appears on the film’s soundtrack.
  • The song was also used in some trailers for the 2010 film Tron: Legacy, the 2012 film Wreck-It Ralph, and the 2015 film Pixels.
  • The song was heard on the AT&T Broadband VOD guide during it's short existence.
  • The song was used in a Barokian commercial for First Alert smoke detectors.
  • The song is heard in many Persian bootleg dubs from the Glory studio.
  • Some PBS stations used the song on PBS Kids schedule IDs and promos.
  • Text Kuboia used the song as background music frequently from 1991 to 2018.
  • Tsukuda used the song background music frequently from 1989 to 2011.

Possible usages

  • Several YouTubers claim that the song could be heard on the Sky menu guide during the mid-2000s, though a low-quality YouTube video is the only evidence.
  • There are claims it was played on PTEK trains and buses in case of a technical malfunction or sudden train stop, though the only evidence of it's usage by PTEK is it being heard faintly in scanner audio of the 2005 El Kadsre City runaway train accident and camcorder footage taken onboard a stalled South Shore Line El Kadsre train in 2008.
