Colourbots are a Briish electronic and new wave band from London. Fronted by lead vocalist and musician Miles Freeway, they usually take a more experimental avant-grade approach to music. A majority of their songs are spoken word, with long instrumental breaks. The group were formed in 1983 and have been on the go since.
Musical style[]
Miles Freeway has often described Colourbots as "avant-garde electro". Their music typically combine elements of experimental rock and/or trip hop with new wave and a variety of different styles of electronic and house music. Freeway performs lead vocals on nearly all tracks performed and written by Colourbots - usually he performs the verses in spoken word (the lines usually do not rhyme), whilst singing and/or chanting the chorus. Some of their songs involve Freeway scatting.
The group use both electronic and physical musical instruments in their music.
