DMP 1 is a free-to-air television channel in the El Kadsreian territory of Taugaran. It broadcast shows, programs, and movies from CPN, Pogobon and others as part of CPN affiliation It is owned and operated by DMP Media and CPN Media Group, formerly from ABS-CBN Corporation and ABS-CBN El Kadsre Ltd. It was one of the Filipino-lanugage Taugaranese TV channels along with TCTV, 5 Taugaran, ECT, Inquirer Territory TV and UNTV Taugaran to cater Filipino-Taugaranese audiences. It was launched on January 30, 1989.

CPN Media Group take full ownership of this channel after shutdown of ABS-CBN affiliation on May 6, 2020, while Light Television (now 5 Taugaran) is now take ownership by Viva, Inc. and TV5 Network Inc.

History

It was first broadcast on January 30, 1989 by the broadcaster and engineer Meridill Santos. It was first broadcasts with local Taugaranese shows and imported Filipino-language TV shows, series, and movies from ABS-CBN 2, RPN 9, Seiko Films, and Regal Films.

The channel was acquired by ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation on May 28, 1990.

In 1993, Taugaran Entertainment Network was launched, which was acquired by ABS-CBN and FTV Taugaran in 1996. It was rebranded to Studio 17 two years later.
