Daniel Johnson (born 1966) is an American actor, filmmaker and screenwriter. He is best known as a writer of the Left 4 Dead film series, alongside his father George Johnson.
Early life[]
Johnson was born in 1966 in Brooklyn, New York to actor George Johnson and English actress Emily Matthews. He has a sister named Hailey and has an young brother named Derby Georgy Johnson.
Career[]

Johnson began his film career in 1983, when he was 17 years old. In early 1984, he was cast as a cameo role in 1985 drama film, Hitchhiker Killer. In 1986, when his father George struggled to find a perfect film plot, Daniel came over to write plot ideas for Left 4 Dead (1987). He eventually became the film's second writer. When the film was released in 1987, he and his father and mother attended the film's premiere. He was so thrilled when the film became a hit in theaters. In 1989, they worked together again for a Left 4 Dead sequel, Left 4 Dead 2 (1990).
In late 1996, he and his father worked together for a final time, this time working on a second Left 4 Dead sequel, Left 4 Dead 3: Back 4 Blood (1998). After his father's death, he decided to become a filmmaker to finish his father's unfinished film, Half-Life (1998), which was released a year after his father's death.
