Discovery Zone (DZ) is a chain of entertainment facilities featuring games and elaborate indoor mazes designed for young children, including roller slides, climbing play structures and ball pits, as well as arcade games. Founded in 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri, it is the primary brand of Discovery Zone International L.P. and is headquartered in Farmers Branch, Texas.

History

In 2001, Discovery Zone was purchased out of bankruptcy by former CEC Entertainment executive Marvin Fizzarotti and his company DZ Acquisition L.P., who relocated the chain's headquarters to Farmers Branch, Texas, an inner-ring suburb of Dallas. In 2007, DZ Acquisition L.P. was renamed Discovery Zone International L.P.

In 2018, Discovery Zone began to pilot a new store layout design at eight remodeled locations (three in Buffalo, New York; three in Houston; one in Harlingen, Texas; and one in Austin, Texas).
