Disney Channel was a YinYangian children's pay television channel owned and operated by IBS-Disney, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. It was the localized counterpart of the American television channel of the same name. It was the first television channel to be launched after the dissolution of the Toralaq Republic.

On December 2020, IBS-Disney announced the closure of the YinYangian feed of Disney Channel, with content shifting to Disney+. It would have taken effect on April 2021, but was later delayed to September 2021 due to financial reasons. Both Disney Channel and Disney XD were shut down on September 20, 2021, with content moving to Disney+.

History[]

In 1990, IBS planned to launch a children's oriented television channel, to compete with Nickelodeon and TBC Children. They announced to launch it as a free-to-air channel, however, it was scrapped in 1992, due to the debt crisis of IBS. It was later revived and 'Iconic Kids' was planned to be launched.

In 1998, with partnership of The Walt Disney Company, that wanted to invest in the Toralaq Republic, Iconic Kids was fully scrapped and IBS-Disney Channel was planned and was set to launch on May 1999. However, due to IBS being on the opposing side of the government, the government denied IBS-Disney Channel to be launched and had to be scrapped once more.

After the establishment of YinYangia, IBS and The Walt Disney Company started to revamp the project, this time as a YinYangian feed of Disney Channel. It was officially launched on December 7, 1999, and its first broadcast was Tarzan.

To gain more ratings, the channel started to broadcast in China in 2000, with a Mandarin language audio track being launched the same year, also provided to audiences in Xiang and Anotokeceria. It started airing live-action shows in 2002, with the premiere of Lizzie McGuire in YinYangia.

On September 20, 2021, after Disney+ was made available in YinYangia, IBS-Disney ceased all operations of Disney Channel and its sister, Disney XD, leaving Fetix the only available children's television channel in the country. Both channels' content were shifted to the platform.
