"Ditto Willow" is the debut single by Aurenian-Aubreian rock band, The Zingers, it was released as the first single from their then-upcoming album Siar's Bar (2000) on October 19, 1999. The song is about someone trying to copy the life of Zingers frontman and lead singer Ricky Noack, and how Ricky explains to them how they keep on failing.

Music video[]

The video takes place in a city where anthropomorphic animals and humans co-exist, and features a man help cleaning up a part of the city while he unnoticeably turns into a female raccoon.

Synopsis[]

The video begins with a flyaround of a city, where narrating text appears sentence-by-sentence:

"This is a story of a human man named, Percy, who lived in the city of Darwinton. But there was one major issue. A quarter of Darwinton was quite wealthy, and they ran the rest of the town...Very poorly. They didn't care for the well-being of anyone except their part of town. Rather than using the profits made from their business to help improve the poor part of town, they would just use it to improve THEIR little part of Darwinton. This gave Darwinton the infamous, "rich get richer" look. Despite there being many citizens of the poor part of Darwinton, no one could do much about it. The rich were responsible for getting people jobs, homes built, but made sure the cost of living would be high as to avoid anyone rising to their stature. No one had broken into, "The Elite", which they had called themselves since the mid 90s. Anyone coming close to breaking through was unheard of, and the Elite were proud of that. The Elite were considered the town's government, they were leaders, and infamously, the bad guys. You'd never see one of them admit it, though. Members of the Elite would always be defensive of their actions, saying how it would help the lower class part of the city to find jobs and have homes. They'd never answer questions in terms of how much they pay employees, charge for products and rent, as if they were hiding something from them. While being rich was something the Elite were known for, there was something else they all were known for. Anthropomorphic animals. Reptiles, mammals, avians, all kinds of animals were running the town. The humans were the ones who got the short end of the stick. As a matter of fact, there weren't any animals seen outside of the Elite part of the town. It was the humans who were stuck as the poor, and could never dream of rising up and joining the Elite, or even seceding from the Elite to start an equally powerful society. Normally, humans wouldn't be seen in the animal part of town and those who were often were berated until they left. In some situations, the person would disappear entirely and the rumors spread about the dark aspects of the Elite. Kidnapping, attacking, or even worse. Because of this, very few humans dared step foot into that part of town. For years, none did. Well, that wasn't until Percy came along...And changed everything...For the Elite."

After the narration, a billboard with an amplifier, which turns out to be an animated shot of the band performing through walls and backgrounds all throughout the video. Throughout the video, he is seen convincing the Elite to clean up the poor part of town which works, even though he unnoticeably starts turning into a humanoid raccoon and becomes female, while memories of his old life as a human begin to change. Now known as Peri, she manages to convince the Elite to start turning the rest of the town into animals and let them join their side.

At the end of the video, the lights in the now-transformed Darwinton, now known as Elite City, begin to turn off. As the final light turns off, the band turns off their equipment and leaves.

The video was directed and animated by Spanish-Aurenian director Lou Marquez, and was also his first music video and first major breakthrough. Lou has previously done animation for commercials and short films, and according to an interview, Lou had mentioned that he was proud with the final result of the video.
