The Great Dream Purge was an incident on the Dream Fiction Wiki involving a mass removal of pages that was started by former admin UnitedWorldMedia.

Incident

The incident occured the Dream Fiction Wiki from August 8 to 9 (UTC), 2020. During the purge, most of the wiki's fictional countries, as well as several other pages, were deleted. As a result, the wiki's continuity now has to be rebooted, with all-new countries to replace the old countries. In the later stages of the purge, the wiki was sent into anarchy, with several admins and bureaucrats banning and unbanning each other.

Aftermath

During the purge, several previously-banned users were unbanned, and several new bureaucrats were added. The wiki grew from just 5 bureaucrats, to over 20. However, the wiki also lost most of its fictional countries, with only 7 surviving the Purge.

Statistics

Before the purge, the wiki had more than 25,000 pages. After the purge, it had less than 23,000 pages. When enough pages are restored, and the wiki reaches the milestone of 30,000 pages, then staff elections will be held.
