The Eruowoodian Universal Media Rating System was created in 1990 as a way to regulate what content goes into TV shows, movies, and video games released in Eruowood.

Ratings

K = Children - All ages

Content

  • Violence has to be Looney Tunes-style slapstick
  • Nudity can only happen for comedic effect to unrealistic cartoon animals (Goofy, Mickey, Donald, etc.)
  • Profanity besides "hell" referring to the place forbidden.
  • Drugs are not allowed except for pre-1979 movies, due to times being different.

  • Drugs can be shown with a warning at the beginning

  • Violence can be non-fantasy style or cartoony, but still heavily regulated
  • Nudity can be shown if it is like "National Geographic"
  • Profanity besides "hell" (in context, and twice in vain), "d**n" (in context), "a**" (referring to a donkey) and "bugger" (once) are not allowed
  • Drugs can be shown negatively (like in Pinocchio)

PG = Parental Guidance Suggested - May not be suitable for younger children

  • Violence can be a bit more intense, but none more intense than "Superhero violence"
  • Nudity can only be shown if non-sexual, thus explaining why "Splash" got a PG and not the higher 13+
  • Profanity besides "hell" "d**n" "a**" "bugger" and a few other mild words aren't allowed.
  • Drugs can be shown neutrally or negatively

  • Drugs can be shown in all ways

MR17 = No one under 17 admitted, limited sales.

  • Same as M17, but with explicit nudity
  • Most stores refuse to carry MR17 rated material and sales limited to "adult" video stores.
  • MR17 movies are generally barred from movie theaters and streaming services.

Trivia

  • News, sporting events, infomercials, and public affairs programs are usually exempt from EURMS' ratings guidelines.
