“Esotko Naito” (English: “Good Night”) is a short song written and performed by KTV members Dekubinâ Kademyâ and Sâmvido Gârisi-Bâdekâla for the channel KTV. It is also called the “Shutdown Song” in English, as the song is typically played before the continuity announcer announces closing (for context, KTV shuts down at 12:00 am at midnight, and continues normal broadcasting with the children's block KTV Yalkânni). As it is evident from the title, the song is sung entirely in Kalennian.

The lyrics of ‘Esotko Naito’ have also been repurposed for other contexts other than TV-related media, as the song is also sung by Kalennian speakers when saying goodbye to a loved one/relative, or paying someone (usually a deceased family member) respects during a funeral ceremony.

”Esotko Naito” was conceptualized by Dekubinâ Kademyâ in August of 2019, with the goal of enhancing the KTV “experience” from viewers across the country. Dekubinâ's sister, Esadâkovâ Kademyâ[1], who was heavily experienced with music, worked with former bassist and vocalist Sâmvido Gârisi-Bâdekâla to compose the song’s instrumental so that it would be made appropriate for television broadcasts. The vocals were provided by both Esadâkovâ and Sâmvido.
