Not to be confused with FTV, an El Kadsreian Filipino-language television channel
FTV (Filipino Television) is a Filipino-language television channel in the El Kadsreian territory of Taugaran. It broadcast shows, programs, and movies from ABS-CBN, CPN, Pogobon and others as part of CPN affiliation. It is owned and operated by Maharlika Central Media and CPN Media Group, with its secondary ownerships from ABS-CBN Corporation and ABS-CBN El Kadsre Ltd. It is one of the Filipino-lanugage Taugaranese TV channels along with TCTV and Light Television to cater Filipino-Taugaranese audiences. It was launched on January 30, 1989.
It was first broadcast on January 30, 1989 by the broadcaster and engineer Meridill Santos. It was first broadcasts with local Taugaranese shows and imported Filipino-language TV shows, series, and movies from ABS-CBN 2, RPN 9, Seiko Films, and Regal Films.
The channel was acquired by ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation on May 28, 1990.
In 2014, the franchise owned by MCM for this TV channel renewed for another 25 years.
On August 15, 2017, CPN Media Group acquired Filipino Television, now it airs CPN programming.
On May 5, 2020, due to NTC releases cease-and-desist order against ABS-CBN, FTV temporary closes operations after ABS-CBN franchise expires.
On May 7, 2020, FTV resumed operations with the re-runs of ABS-CBN shows and movies, along with new CPN shows, CPN News and a TeleRadyo channel airing.
On June 14, 2020, FTV now airs Kapamilya Channel blocktime everyday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
Currently, as of July 2020. From midnight to 6:00 AM, it airs TeleRadyo, ANC, CPN News, and O Shopping programs. From 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, it airs various programs. From 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, it airs Kapamilya Channel blocktime. From 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM to 12:00 AM, it airs CPN and local-based FTV programming.
