By origin or meaning[]
Core of Ostland[]
The 'Core of Ostland' is a vexillological concept devised in Ostland during the late 17th and 18th century. Flags with certain elements, such as a combination of black, blue and white elements are often considered under this concept. The flags always feature a black stripe. The flags descent from the original flag of the Ostlandic Rebellion in 1776, which consisted on a black ensign behind a ray blue saltire. This is considered the oldest symbol of the nation's identity, and has been replicated after the country's independence to express the same meaning: the fierce and mightiness of the Ostlandic nation.
Midland and Kuningslandet[]
Eastern Styroe[]
Sydland[]
Although Jernland is not located in the geographical south, its Flag served as inspiration, first, for the Syrostoy one. Perlstrand, which was not a separate state from Skarndalir (both under the de-jure West Styroe province) untill 1906, based its flag on the Syrostoy one due to its location, near on the south. The flag of the Asghenia state had a different history of origin, yet it was included due to it being part of the Sydland geographical region. Inhabitants of Asghenia eventually linked the red colour on its flag to the flags of other states in the Sydland as a way of fellowship.
