Forever is the tenth studio album by American DJ, record producer and rapper DJ Mala. It was released on August 13, 2010, by 1 Records and Def Jam Recordings.
It was originally tentatively confirmed for July 31, 2010 through Def Jam Recordings, however, it was pushed back once more and finally released on August 10, 2010 in the Japan and August 13, 2010 in the US.
Background and release
In December 31st, 2009, DJ Mala leaves Jive/Zomba, In February 2nd, 2010, DJ Mala signed to the Def Jam Recordings, and announced he was working on his tenth and final solo album and DJ Mala announced retirement.
An instrumental version of the album was released on the iTunes Store on September 2, 2010.
Commercial performance
Forever debuted at number 7 on the US Billboard 200, selling 45,000 copies in its first week, the album fell quickly, falling to 42 in its second week and 52 in its third. It also debuted at number one on the Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. On September 20, 2008, the album has sold 159,400 copies in the United States.
