Freddi Fish: Undersea Sleuth is a Canadian-American animated educational mystery television series based on the video games by Humongous Entertainment. It was a co-production between Lancit Media Entertainment, Magic World Productions, P&S Colline Family Entertainment and Varga Studio and broadcast on RKO Network and YTV (as well as Treehouse) from 1998 until 2001.
The series was later incorporated into The Humongous Hour! (alongside Big Thinkers!, Putt-Putt's Roads to Success and The Adventures of Pajama Sam) on RKO Network in 2000 until the block was ended in 2003.
Premise[]
Like the games it is based on, the series revolves around the titular Freddi Fish and her companion Luther as they investigate and eventually solve mysteries in their undersea hometown. Sometimes, but not always, many of the mysteries involve the efforts of The Squidfather (alongside his lackeys Boss & Spongehead) to try and maintain power and control over the community.
Differences between the games and the series[]
- Unlike the games, not all of the mysteries featured involve theft and, by that same token, other morals besides those against stealing are taught over the course of the series.

Home media[]
In the United States, many VHS tapes were distributed by RKO Home Entertainment (with some jointly released by Lyrick Studios from 2000 to 2001, due to their publishing department handling licensed books from Humongous franchises at the time). In Canada, different VHS editions were released by Talisman Pictures in conjunction with Warner Home Video.
