Gabriela Tavárez Zamacois (born February 24, 1992) is a Canadian actress and voice actress.
Early life[]
Gabriela Tavarez was born in Mattice-Val Côté, Ontario to a Franco-Ontarian mother and Ecuadorian father, and raised in Barrie and Toronto. She attended St. Mother Teresa Catholic Academy and graduated in 2011. After that, she attended York University.
Career[]
Tavarez began acting at the age of 6 after she was discovered by a talent scout while performing in the Toronto Children's Chorus. She was also in a youth ballet program at the time.
Since 2016, she has been the understudy for Leah Renee Cudmore in the role of Cornflower in the Redwall franchise. Tavarez voiced Cornflower for the 2018 version of Carwardine Parks' Skyrotechnics and in Matthias: A Tale of Redwall as Leah was on maternity leave at the time. Her other work for the Redwall franchise has been largely additional roles, as well as a suit actress for the live shows (she has appeared as the Cornflower walkaround; having gotten the role because she told a Latikuu Edacra staffer that she did ballet and would "gladly step into one of the Redwall costumes.")
