Game Channel is a Canadian 24-hour English-language specialty channel owned and operated under a joint venture between Bell Media and The Game Channel Company.
In December 2013, it was announced that an agreement was made between Steven Short, the channel's founder and CEO, and Bell Media to make a new television channel replacing Canadian mass media company Corus Entertainment's YTV Toon. Thusly, a Canadian version of Game Channel was in development. The channel was launched on May 6, 2014.
On August 28, 2015, about one year after the launch, Bell Media announced that the Minecraft Central and Roblox Rules programming blocks would be removed for time and scheduling reasons. Thusly, Minecraft and Roblox programs began airing without schedules, besides new episodes.
On July 13, 2018, Bell confirmed that Game Channel was going to start having original programs in Canada, starting with The Bajan Canadian Show, idolizing the YouTuber of the same name.
