George Gillick (born April 11, 1967) is a Canadian puppeteer, actor, and voice actor.
In 2001, George played SpongeBob SquarePants fan club president Patchy the Pirate in promotional appearances while Tom Kenny did the Nickelodeon Cast Tours. He then went on to play Patchy in SpongeBob SquarePants Live!, SpongeBob SquarePants Live! The Flying Dutchman's Treasure Tour, and SpongeBob SquarePants Live! The Adventures of the Krusty Krew. He was originally going to perform both the voice & puppetry of Potty the Parrot in SpongeBob after Stephen Hillenburg's departure in 2005, but due to him not getting the correct "macaw" accent and contractual obligations back in his native Canada, he ended up passing on the role.
Gillick is currently the man behind Basil from Sesame Park, performing him in the CBC Kids series Sesame Port. In 2015, Basil appeared at the Canadian Screen Awards, performed by Gillick. Prior to Sesame Port, he had assisted Basil late in the run of Sesame Park and performed Grover in the Sesame Park Live shows, as well as performing aerial Waldo puppetry for Petrie in The Land Before Time Live!. In 2016, Gillick inherited the body role of Dudley the Dragon, with Alex Galatis still doing the voice, making his first appearance as Dudley as part of the YTV Throwback Mall Tour at Toronto Eaton Centre.
Around 2008 to 2023, George was the second puppeteer for U-tan in Peek-a-Boo!.
