The NES version of Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a port of Capcom's 1988 arcade game of the same name developed by Zippo Games for Rare and it was published by Approach Software and it was released for the NES only in El Kadsre in the August of 1989. Tamayo Kawamoto's score for the game was converted by David Wise using Chris Stamper's sound driver.

The gameplay is the same as the original arcade version, but downgraded to fit the NES' resolution. Unlike the arcade version, the end credits are skipped, just going straight to their high scores.
