Gilmar Sanford (January 4, 1946 - August 7, 1998) was a Canadian television and film producer, director, and entrepreneur.


Early life

Gilmar Sanford was born on January 4, 1946 at Hôpital Saint-François d'Assise in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. His father, Jean-Noël Sanford (1925-1996) was a police officer for the Service de police de la Ville de Québec, and his mother, Rose Tailfeathers-Sanford (1923-2001) was of the Naskapi Innu First Nation of Eastern Quebec and Labrador, Canada.



Gilmar Sanford died on August 7, 1998 on the Red Pheasant First Nation reserve in Saskatchewan, Canada, when his Hummer crashed into a piece of farm equipment. He was under the influence of LSD and absinthe when he died. He is buried in Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
