The following is a list of fictional covers of the Graham Gouldman song "Go For It".
Screaming Yellow Players version[]
American pop punk band the Screaming Yellow Players covered the song in 1999 for their self-titled first studio album.
Background[]
Derek De Vriendt, a fan of 10cc, had owned a copy of the Animalympics soundtrack and "loved it." He had championed for the inclusion of songs from the soundtrack in the band's early setlists, and as a result "Go For It" had been part of the band's repertoire from then on.
When recording their first album, producer Simon Marais told the band to not include the song on the album, since he thought the lyrics were "rubbish" and made no sense. After an argument with Marais, he reluctantly let the band record the song for the album.
Music video[]
The music video was directed by Kevin Godley (himself a former 10cc member) and filmed in Pittsburgh with studio footage filmed on a soundstage in London.
