Early life[]

Hank May was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire near London; and moved to the United States at the age of 3, where he was raised in Philadelphia. As a result of his immigration, he has spoken with a distinctive Delaware Valley accent since his childhood. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies growing up, and also holds allegiance to Arsenal F.C., the club his parents supported in their youth.

Career[]

In 2009, May began working as a play-by-play announcer for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes. In the offseason, he was an announcer for New Mexico State Aggies soccer games. In 2014, it was announced he would take over as the lead English-language radio play-by-play announcer for the Montreal Expos, after Donovan Bebout left the position to move to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
