Hedworth Beal (born August 5, 1964) is an American voice actor, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a former law enforcement officer with the New York City Police Department. He has worked for multiple studios in New York City including 4Kids Entertainment, TAJ Productions, Audioworks Producers Group, NYAV Post, and DuArt Film & Video and has also worked in Hong Kong for Omni Productions and Red Angel Media.
4Kids Entertainment and voice acting
After retiring from the NYPD in 1997, Hedworth was hired as a security guard by 4Kids Entertainment. One day in 2001, Hedworth was asked by Eric Stuart to sub for him during a Tama & Friends recording session as Bupkus. Although Hepworth's voice was re-recorded with Eric prior to broadcast, this was his introduction to voice acting.
In 2012, he left 4Kids and moved away from New York City, relocating to Hong Kong where he went to work for Omni Productions and Red Angel Media. He worked on English-language anime dubs for Animax and local television stations at the two companies, though he did commute occasionally to New York City to reprise roles if needed.
Hedworth returned to New York City after 4 years in Hong Kong in 2016, and works as a freelance voice actor and narrator.
