Ian Marios David Kostopoulos (born April 4, 1976) is an Australian-American singer-songwriter, voice actor, actor, and blogger. Kostopoulos has worked with Bang Zoom! Entertainment, NYAV Post and DuArt Film & Video on anime titles and commercial narration.

Life and career

Ian Kostopoulos was born on April 4, 1976 in Adelaide, South Australia. His father, Chester Kostopoulos, is a Greek Australian, and his mother, Evangelia Karahalios-Kostopoulos, is a native Greek. At the age of 3, he and his parents moved to Richmond, Virginia, United States. He recalls recording his first voice-over for a children's stories 1-900 number at the age of 10. His parents would occasionally take him to New York City during the summer to attend auditions. When he was in middle school, he was cast for a series of Carwardine Parks queue tapes, where he was part of the Carwardine Kids, and did voice roles in some Tex Critter's showtapes in high school, though he was never officially a Carnie. He graduated in 1999 from Pace University with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. He also attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

In 2001, he got involved in anime dubs under 4Kids Entertainment, TAJ Productions and NYAV Post. His first ever anime role was a minor role in Space Pirate Mito. Prior to working for the three companies, the only anime Kostopoulos was aware of was Samurai Pizza Cats, which he watched when he was younger, but did not know it was an anime until several years later. He also provided voice work for PBS Kids promos and recorded voice work for E/I interstitials for WPIX. He also sung and, with Russell Velázquez, co-wrote the theme songs for the 4Kids dubs of Tomica Hero: Rescue Force and Cosmic Baton Girl Princess Comet.

In 2011, he moved to the Los Angeles area, where he continues to provide voice work. Kostopoulos continues to provide promo voice work for PBS Kids, where he records at his home studio in Santa Monica and is patched over by ISDN line to his producer in New York City.
