History

Ikeda Islands doesn't have a indigenous population and there is no evidence that it was seen by humans until the early-20th century. In 1902, the Ikeda Islands was discovered and colonized by Japanese colonial settlers, who imported some of the natives to their land.

In 1963, it was sold to West El Kadsre by the United Kingdom, who captured it during World War II from the Japanese.

Andre Island remained unnamed for years until Andre Kayrlislopvoslky named it after him in 1992.
