JT1 is the first national television station in Jetania. It began operations on October 17, 1966. It provides public broadcasting and currently exists next to sister channels JT2, JT3, JT4, and JT3D. A wide range of member-based broadcasting associations & private companies affiliated with the Jetanie Consortium for Public Broadcasting, known as TV operations companies (a similar model to the Dutch public broadcasting system, Colombian programadoras, and Channel 2 in Israel), provide a wide variety of programming for various demographics.
History[]
JT1 was the first TV channel to be aired in Jetania, premiering on 17th October, 1966 as the co-operative Jetanie Television Service. Originally broadcast using modified deflector systems (normally used for relaying British and Spanish television signals on UHF), the channel broadcast a mixture of "public access"-type programs, films, American & British TV series, and documentaries from sunrise until before midnight. Programming was originally provided by Jetanie Catholic Broadcasting Organization (JCBO), Jetanian Christian Broadcasting Association (JCBA), Ardent Radio, and Owakoi Tribal Broadcasting.
