Josh Solomon Stewart (April 4th, 1948 - March 18th, 2019) was an Engarian journalist, newsreader and television presenter. He is best known for presenting the Wiki TV Evening News between 1992-2009. Josh also became one of the reporters of Wiki TV's Dateline in 2011-2014. He died on March 18th, 2019 following a long illness.
Josh was born in Komapest in 1948. He lived with his parents until 1966 when he moved out of his parents' house and moved to another one.
Josh's television career began in 1966 when he became the political correspondent for the Wiki TV Evening News.
In that same year, he was named as one of the editors of the komapest times and he has remained there until 1977.
In 1978, Josh became the lead presenter of 180 minutes, a breakfast program that airs on Wiki Radio 1.
He stepped down from the show in 1992 when he became the newsreader for the Wiki TV Evening News. Since then, he has become the longest-serving newsreader of the program, presenting for almost 17 years.
In 2009, Josh stepped down as the main newsreader of the Wiki TV Evening News. However, his newsreader career continued where he became one of the presenters of TWO News (known as Channel TWO Evening News at the time). his first bulletin on channel TWO news was on September 25th. However, he only has been in the news program for 3 months when he stepped down. His last bulletin was on December 18th, 2010.
On March 17th 2011, Josh joined the Wiki TV's dateline crew as one of the reporters of the show. He has remained there until 2014 when he announced that he will present a new political talk show, Tonight with Josh Stewart.
In 2015, Josh presented the aforementioned Tonight with Josh Stewart, a political talk show that airs on the Engarian news channel. He has presented the show until his death in 2019.
On March 18th, 2019, Josh died in a Komapest hospital surrounded by his wife, Ruth. The news of his death was announced by Wiki TV at 18:00 pm when they interrupted the program (Exatlon Engary). His cause of death was that he has been in ill health since December 2018 when his illness began showing during the live episode of Tonight with Josh Stewart. Shortly after the news of his death was confirmed, the entire Wiki TV News crew started paying tributes to him.
Josh's funeral was held on March 30th, 2019, just a week after his death. Some of the editors of the komapest times have also attended the funeral, but Liam Miller (the current main newsreader of the Wiki TV Evening News) has also taken part in the funeral. Josh was later laid to rest in the Komapest cemetery.
During his lifespan, Josh is considered as one of the most respected newsreaders in Engary. Because of that, he has won numerous awards, including when he was the "Presenter of the Year" at the Engarian television society journalism awards in 2016.
On February 8th, 2020, Wiki TV named Josh Stewart in their news studio and it later inaugurated a commemorative plaque.
