Kawaru (かわる) was an El Kadsreian (formely New Japanese/Sentanese) company founded in 1888 dedicated to the manufacture of typewriters and since 1957 telex machines. It was acquired by Theorysonic in 1979 and it became a brand name for Theorysonic's electronic typewriter until 1985, when the Kawaru brand retired, while Kawaru’s telex division was spun off to “Kawaru Telex”, which would later eventually become the internet service provider KTO in 1989 (back then as telecommunications).
