MTV 1 (Moscow Television 1) is a Moscow television channel, but soon the channel became regional. MTV 1 broadcasts news, journalistic, educational and entertainment programs, as well as TV shows and feature films, but at the same time, its programs are addressed to residents of all of Russia, primarily to the population of large cities.
Since the mid-1990s, the European version of the channel in English has been broadcast in Russia. Until December 31, 2006, the Ziad Network TV channel broadcasted from 07:00 to 02:00 Moscow time (in 2000-2005, from 07:00 to 00:00 Moscow time). During non-working hours, Playboy TV was broadcast on the channel, although for some cable operators this erotic channel was blocked by recording the channel’s old promo video or by gluing together screensavers and announcements of past years.
Since January 1, 2007, its own version of the television channel broadcasting in the CIS countries appeared. Own and alien cartoons were broadcast on the air.
At the beginning of 2015, the cartoon "The Normal World of Zambol" was closed due to a poor rating and a little shame.
On June 10, 2015, the channel was purchased and the name was changed to ZMTV. Dramatic changes began on the air: news began to appear, other cartoons began to appear, and in the end it was recognized by the Russian channel. The theme of the channel remained the same, only changed.
On July 15, 2016, the channel changed its logo and design. The slogan also changed: "Life is becoming more interesting."
Since February 1, 2017, the channel has been broadcasting in the 16: 9 format. In June 2017, the animated series Smileys was removed from the air due to numerous complaints from viewers.
On July 6, 2017, the channel changed its logo and design, which resembles a fuel assembly.
In mid-2017, the number of ZMTV and ZMTV Media employees decreased. On December 1, 2017, information appeared in the press that the channel could completely change the concept, logo and design, the broadcasting network will consist of 80% of new programs.
During the transition period, the channel broadcast entertaining shows, films and series. Also, during the New Year holidays of 2018, the “Best from ZMTV” marathon was held.
On January 10, 2018, ZMTV carried out a large-scale rebranding: changed its name to MTV 1, deciding to completely change the concept of the channel. According to the general director of the channel, MTV 1 is a Moscow channel, and on its air the public and political life of Moscow, as well as all federal, citywide, social, cultural and social events, will be widely and fully covered. It was the most successful rebranding in the history of the channel, and MTV Media is considered the best media in Russia. All the cartoons that broadcast here moved to ZMTV Baby, and ZMTV Baby itself became a children's and teenage channel.
In July 2019, the Board of Founders decided to close the channel along with MTV Media due to the difficult economic situation. The detailed reason was told by the general director of the MTV 1 channel Oleg Ivanov in the News program, although many viewers defended the channel, this did not help the channel.
