MediaTower is a fictional website that went online in 1998. They were originally a p2p file sharing site until 2007 where they were hit with a lawsuit. Luckily the founder of the website, Kyle Tarala, managed to pay a lot of money to get the website running, the catch is that he had to change it to a game and music hosting site.

In the same year, MediaTower was acquired by Google, and had some changes. Instead of various files that are sometimes dangerous, they only allowed official copies of games and music on the site, and some had a price tag of $7.00. In the year 2012, Google then introduced Ranks, which are basically subscriptions to certain services on the website. The first one, aka the Free one, gives Peasants access to certain games and music. The second one, also known as Rookie, gives Peasants the ability to talk on forums, and have more access to games and music. Peasants with this rank can also watch videos uploaded to the site. The third one, which is the Warrior rank, gives Peasants the ability to upload their own songs under a filter which prevents EXE files disguised as mp3s from getting through. Peasants with this rank can also buy DLC.

The fourth one, the Epic Pwner rank, gives Peasants the ability to upload their own videos and even create their own Crowds, which are like Subreddits but with different tweaks. Peasants can also access cross-platform games.

The fifth and final rank, Supreme Peasant, can give users almost every single ability, except administrator tools (for obvious reasons).

In 2020, MediaTower was purchased by Discord Inc. and has a new design to the website's pages.

The mascot of the website. Peassy, is a small yellow bird that was first introduced in 2003 when he was seen on the crowd Posting, where he is shown struggling to breathe in a massive group of Peassies. He also appears in the ranks aswell.

Other features[]

Until 2016, MediaTower had its own instant messaging service called MessageTower. Its first few versions until 2010 were based off MSN, the later versions were based on their own messenger. The features in MessageTower were quite different from other IMs. There would be music already in the program, and users/peasants could get their music off of MediaTower to play it in the IM client. The client's answer to the Nudge/Buzz was called SQUAUK! which would play a parrot caw every time the button was pressed. 2015 saw the last major update of the IM client until its later discontinuation the year later. This would have basically all you would need for a messaging client.
