Medos (/mɛdɒs/), officially The Democratic Republic of Medos (Medisch: Demijkratisch Republiek ven Medölen), is a sovereign nation located in the centre of the North Sea, sharing maritime borders with the United Kingdom to the west, Norway to the east, Islean to the north; land borders with The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark to the south/south east.
Etymology[]
Medölen, derived from the Middle English word Medo[1], and land, becoming Medolen (Land of Meadows), originally named after the vast fields that early settlers were greeted with. Eventually shortened to Medölen (/mˈɛdɜːlən/) by those living there. In English, it is simply shortened to Medos, or even just Medo.
The demonym Medeut (or Medisch) is mainly derived from Proto-Germanic languages, where the word 'Medöuits' was used to describe those from 'Medoland'.

Medos is a sovereign nation sharing land borders with 3 countries, Germany and The Netherlands to the south, and Denmark to the east. It also shares maritime borders with The United Kingdom to the west and Islean to the north. With a total area of approximately 268,180 square kilometres (103,545 sq mi). It is the world's 77th largest nation, behind New Zealand, with an average height of only 110m (360ft) above sea level. The Northern regions are known for vast forests, large hills, valleys, and beautiful natural features. In contrast, southern regions are populated by lower rolling hills, lush fields, and large, flat grasslands.

Since Medos is always in or close to the path of the polar front jet stream, changes in pressure and unstable weather are a typical occurrence. Few types of weather can be seen during a single day. The standard climate of Medos annually is wet and cold in winter and autumn with frequent cloudy skies, wet and cool in spring, and drier and mild to warm in summer.
Medos is heavily under the influence of the maritime polar air mass from the north to north-west. The south and south-east of Medos are the least exposed to polar air masses from the north to north-west, and often see continental tropical air masses from Europe, which bring warm dry air in the summer. Here, on average, the temperature ranges from 11 to 26 °C (51 to 78°F).
