Below is a list of main, supporting, and recurring characters appearing on the animated television series Mole Miner.

Main characters

• Andrew Francis (seasons 1–5, 8–present) and Enyu Ni (seasons 6–7) as Darren, a young miner in his 20s who has been working at the Rockies Mines since he was 19. Darren, a European mole, has several main philosophies in life, some of which are passed on to the other miners, chief among them is his catchphrase "What gets done, is done!". Darren is the son of a beaver and a mole, and has two brothers (a mole, Warren, and a beaver, Craig, respectively) and a half-beaver, half-mole sister named Barbara (who is not deformed, but has the body of a mole and the buck teeth and tail of a beaver). He is a fan of Velveeta cheese and 1980s hit music. He is also the founder and lead singer of the cover band Doak Walker Orchestra, which debuted in season 2.

• Phil Hayes as Philippe, the star-nosed mole manager of the mines. He is of Belgian French origin and speaks with a French accent.
  • Katrina Hamilton as a 5-year old Philippe
• Janyse Jaud as Janin, Darren's love interest and one of the first few female miners the company hired (around the same time Darren got hired). She is a southern marsupial mole, and due to having incomplete eyes (as with actual members of the species) she wears glasses.
• Maurice LaMarche as Vernon, Darren's unstable seventh cousin, 10-times removed. A long-tailed mole, he is often the one responsible for demolitions at the mines, and is often seen wearing a T-shirt with "I am a bomb technician. If you see me running try to keep up" on the back. He was originally created by MAD magazine artist Tuomo Harkimo for a 1999 parody in the magazine, but Phelan Morkel was impressed by the spoof that he asked if he could make Vernon an official character, to which Harkimo accepted the offer.
• Gabe Khouth (seasons 1–7) and Enyu Ni (season 8–present) as Harry, a European mole and one of Darren's closest friends since childhood. He drives the Harr-a-mobile, a 1980s van which is one of the few vehicles owned by the miners that actually runs. He is the guitarist of Doak Walker Orchestra. He is bisexual and has had both boyfriends & girlfriends in the past.
• Scott McNeil as Georgie, a Brooklyn-accented eastern mole and career criminal who initially found work at the mine as a scab during a mid-1990s labor strike while on parole from a supermax prison. He has since become one of Darren's fellow miners.
• Ian James Corlett as Roddy, a beaver who is the resident mechanic at the mines. He is also the network administrator for the mine's computer systems and wrote the Linux-based software which runs the computerized equipment. He is the keyboardist for Doak Walker Orchestra.
• Sharon Romer as Sharon, a long-tailed mole and Vernon's "more stable but still fat" sister. She was hired due to Roddy having a crush on her despite Sharon having lack of experience in mining, so Sharon ended up being taught by Janin and Darren how to do her job. She is the drummer for Doak Walker Orchestra.
• Tagi Miori (seasons 1–6, 8–present) and Daegil Mak (season 7) as Thom, a rabbit who frequently visits the mines, and is promoted to the mine in season 4. He is of Japanese descent. He is also the bassist of Doak Walker Orchestra. Tagi Miori was replaced by Daegil Mak for season 7 due to Miori getting into a pay dispute with Ocean Productions, but he would return to voice Thom in Mole Miner: Strike It Richer.
  • Anthony Chen (seasons 1–7) and Nelson Miori-Morinaka (season 8–present) as an 11-year-old Thom
• Cusse Mankuma (seasons 4-7) and George Ouedraogo (season 8–present) as Rochester, a crested porcupine who debuted in Mole Miner: Quartz Madness! and subsequently became one of the main characters afterwards in season 4. He came from the Dunn School of Mining, where Philippe attended when he was a miner. He also becomes the rhythm guitarist of Doak Walker Orchestra.
  • Prior to assuming the role in season 8, George Ouedraogo was the singing voice of Rochester.
• Amy Jo Johnson as Clarissa, a skunk who debuted in Mole Miner: Quartz Madness! and subsequently became one of the main characters afterwards in season 4. She ends up becoming Harry's girlfriend by the end of the series.
• Chiara Zanni as Sammy, a bat who is one of Darren's longtime friends.
• Martin Berger as Mango, a white-faced capuchin monkey who Darren met at the Dunn School of Mining prior to the events of the series. He is one of the regular main characters of the series.
• Trevor Honeyball as Spec, a mole and another one of Darren's longtime friends. Trevor Honeyball, one of the show's session singers, was originally a placeholder until a regular voice actor was chosen, but the producers liked his performance enough to make him the permanent voice actor.
• Marie-Claude Renteria as Rebekah, a squirrel who is a male-to-female transgender woman, and one of the miners. She joins the main characters in season 8 as a graduate of the Ulf Mining Academy. She is an old friend of Clarissa.

Recurring characters

• Jenny M. Jackson as Charlie, a squirrel who works as a medic at the mines. She attended the Kumble Medical College. She admits she has a crush on Darren in the fifth episode, and this leads into a brief love triangle between Charlie, Darren and Janin in season 4.
• Marley Koda as Takana, Thom's cousin who moves to the Rockies from Japan in the episode "Home Is Where the Heart Is". In the episode, she also gets a job at the mines.
• Vanessa King (seasons 1–5), Ashleigh Ball (seasons 6-7) and Jaeda Lily Miller (season 8–present) as Bannister, Charlie's little sister who visits the mines.
• Madeem Naheel Hadeef as Kyle, Charlie's cousin. He is visits the mines frequently in seasons 1 to 4. In seasons 5 to 7, he attends the Ulf Mining Academy, and graduates in the penultimate series finale. He is shown working at the mine in season 8.
• Kate Camphuysen as Donna, Charlie's sister and one of the female miners.
• Leslie Verany as Marja, Sammy's sister who debuted in season 3.
• Jason Michas (seasons 1–7) and Alan Marriott (season 8-present) as Noah, a star-nosed mole.
• Diego Matamoros as Guilherme, the Brazilian-born CEO of the mines' owner, the Phelworth Mining Co., which is a subsidiary of Montana Mining & Smelting. He is a True's shrew mole.
• Daniel Bacon as Delaware, a porcupine employed in the mines. He has a crush on Donna.
• Timothy Beckenburrow (pilot), Édouard Chemaune (seasons 1–7) and Scott McNeil (season 8–present) as Jordan Krawls, a turantula who owns KMT 11, a local television station.
• Fred W. Sandy (seasons 1–6, 8–present) and Rohyun Chang (season 7) as Dusty, the owner of Dusty Smelting, a company based in a mountain region near the Rockies called the Redrocks along the Washington-Montana border. He is a naked mole rat. Dusty was nearly written off after season 6 due to his voice actor moving away from Vancouver, but Rohyun Chang was casted for season 7. Fred W. Sandy returned to the role in season 8 via remote recording from his home in Hong Kong.
• Greg Heamer as Robespierre, Philippe's twin brother. He is the liaison officer between the Phelworth Mining Co. and Dusty Smelting.
• Doron Bell Jr. as Buffalo, Rochester's brother.
• Kathleen Barr as Ouraine, Philippe's secretary.
• Wayne Giakoumakis as Ted, a long-tailed mole and one of Darren's friends.
• Kelly Sheridan as Klea, Georgie's niece.
• Michael Donovan as Jean-Claude, Philippe's brother.
• Christopher Gaze as Edward, Clarissa's uncle.
• Yang Mi Soo as Nancy, Thom's niece.
• Aayush Hareemaapa as Koko, a red wolf. Koko is the CEO of Northeast, Inc., a company that sells products made from diamonds.
  • Cole Hareemaapa as a 16-year-old Koko.
• Louis Chirillo (seasons 1-7) and Howie Bogaert (season 8-present) as Psalms, a common mole miner.
• Various child actors as Brandy, Psalms' nephew who frequently visits the mines.
• Terry Klassen as Hollywood, a swamp rabbit employed at the mines.
• Roger Rhodes as Sparkler, a squirrel who works in the mines.
• Dean Galloway as Danton, Philippe's younger brother who debuted in the season 5 premiere.
• Francisco Trujillo as Búho, a Colombian-American owl who works as "the only web designer in town" and created the Phelworth Mining Co. website.
• Frank Gasnier as Glen, Dusty's cousin from Colorado. Glen was relegated to unvoiced cameos from seasons 5-7 after Gasnier was fired from the production, but Gasnier returned to the role for season 8.
• Terry Klassen as Adam, the owner of the Great Muddy Acres, the local spa and mud bath place.
• Kelly Jane Sanzel as Cassie, a tiger who owns a local shop called Gem Land.

Guest characters

• Jim Byrnes as Klench Hamman, the hamster news anchor of KMT 11 News.
• Kirby Morrow (seasons 1–7) and Ian James Corlett (season 8–present) as Vinnie, Darren's mole brother, and Klench Hamman's hapless personal assistant at KMT 11 News.
• Richard Ian Cox as Warren, Darren's mole brother.
• Matt Hill as Craig, Darren's beaver brother.
• Katrina Hamilton as Barbara, Darren's younger sister, who is half-beaver and half-mole. She has a "snarky" attitude and enjoys cooking with her brother Darren.
• Juliette Kurry (seasons 1–4) and Danielle Chloe Maucherre (seasons 5–present) as Kristina Kim Snappy, a corgi who owns an animation studio called Studio Snappy.
• David Kaye (seasons 1–7) and Michael Daingerfield (season 8–present) as Mike, a turtle who owns Mike's Snacks, a bakery located near the mines. Mike's parents are Italian.
• Various child actors as Julius, Mike's son.
• Jonathan L. Kim as Phil Cheese, a mouse who is the chief of the Rockies Police Department (RPD).
• Andrew Yabeeb as Kurt Cauliflower, an eagle officer for the RPD.
• Daniel Vinucci (pilot), Hunter Robinson (seasons 2–5), and Robby J. Taylor (season 6–present) as Fred, Kurt's dad and a miner. Fred was originally written off after the pilot episode, but came back in season 2.
• Julia Robite as Katie, a porcupine and a former miner. Katie retires in the pilot, and is the mentor for Thom, Rochester and Clarissa in seasons 4-7. In season 8, she mentors Rebekah and Kyle.
• Keno Gobi as Donald "Donny" Donald, a Korean gray wolf who works on a farm near the mines. He moved to a fictional diamond-rich Oregon mountain region called the Moonside at age 10 before moving to the Rockies at age 38.
• Shaker Paleja as Prabodh, an Indian lion who is a miner.
• Garry Chalk as Plough, a rat who is one of the more "big" miners.
• Michael Dobson as Marshall, Katie's twin brother.
• Blu Mankuma as Brooklyn, Rochester's dad.
• Brandon Jay McLaren as Joey, Rochester's cousin.
• Samantha Heamer as Billie-Jean, Darren's auntie who is employed in the mines. She retires towards the end of season 7. In season 8, she co-mentors Rebekah.
• Mig Macario as Chang, the Hainan hare CFO of Phelworth Mining Co.
• Grahame Vagen as Sir Stephen, the chairman of United Mine Workers Local 1922.
• Thomas Markopoulos (season 1), Bill Morales (seasons 2–6), and Martin Berger (short film, season 8–present) as Bailey Joe "Beejay" Roars, a white tiger who is the current CEO of Alpha Iron Products. He was written off after his appearance in the season 6 episode "The No Show Hour-Long Show" due to Morales dying and the casting crew not being able to find a replacement for him, but he reappeared in Mole Miner: Strike It Richer, with Martin Berger providing his voice.
• Moneca Stori (seasons 1-7) and Veronica Timar (season 8–present) as Alice Woolma, a sheep reporter for KMT 11 News.
• Stevie Vallance as Louise, a lion employed in the mines. She becomes Prabodh's girlfriend by the end of the series.
• Tony Acequada as Gabriel Daga, a Filipino-American mouse. Daga is a businessman and the owner of the Daga International Hotel, a small "rodent-exclusive" hotel near the mines.
• Liza Kambasta as Sharon Daga, Gabriel's wife
• Various child actors as Nathaniel Daga, Gabriel and Sharon's son.
• Franklin Heamer as Oliver Hahafunny, a domestic short-haired cat and an electrician at the mines.
• Greg Heamer as Prager, a European polecat employed in the mines, who is a longtime friend of Katie. He was named after Dennis Prager according to a 2002 interview with Phelan Morkel.
• Ted Cole as Kale, Thom's friend.
• Michael Sicoly (seasons 1-2) and Richard Ian Cox (season 3-present) as Dart, Darren's simple-minded cousin from Alaska.
• Ty Olsson as Bill Sorbetspoon, the local ice cream man.
• Venus Terzo as Beanstalk, Oliver's girlfriend who is Alice Woolma's sister.
• Dave Crandell as Dr. Wiseman, the main doctor at Prof. Cu Wacker-Ree Memorial Hospital, "the only hospital in the Rockies with an actual emergency room". His behavior is a satire of that of "certain people in the scientific and medical communities" according to Phelan Morkel.
• Shirley Millner as Dr. Astaire, the main doctor at Jim Bohlen University Medical Center, which specializes in "naturopathy, acupuncture, Traditional Asian medicine, herbal medicine, ayurvedic medicine, psychology, and quick WebMD searches". Similarly to Dr. Wiseman, her behavior is a satire of alternative medicine practitioners in a similar way to how Dr. Wiseman is a satire of the scientific and medical communities.
• Josh Bacchetti as Randy, a lamb who works the mine's cafeteria. Randy is openly gay.
• Dean Berndtson as Randy Phelworth, the founder & owner of the Phelworth Mining Co. He was originally voiced by Martin Sheen when he debuted in Mole Miner: Quartz Madness!.
• Scott McNeil as Sal Phelworth, Randy's son & the co-owner of the Phelworth Mining Co. He was originally voiced by Charlie Sheen when he debuted in Mole Miner: Quartz Madness!.
• Matthew Bellett as Quincy, a porcupine who works at Dusty Smelting. He is transferred to the Phelworth mines in season 6.
• Simphiwe Baines as Oakley, Quincy's twin brother.
• James Hetfield as James Hedgehog, the host of Rock 'n Stuff, the local talent show for musical acts.
• Jamie Jones as Hannah, a European gypsy mouse who works at the mines.
• Matt Siegel as Matty Adams, a local radio DJ at KAAT-FM.
• Antoine Bachet (seasons 1–7) and Sidney Lougena (seasons 8–present) as Antoine Furchet, a white tiger who is a local journalist for The Rockies Times.
• Ken Kramer as Mr. Liam, Randy's dad.
