Jenny "XJ-9" Wakeman

  • Note to self, ask mom to make my metal stomach digest lactose.
  • The mall? But, my mom said to never make any contact with the human population.
  • Sorry, Vexus. The only thing you'll be tasting, is a factory fresh knuckle sandwich!

Brad Carbunkle

  • Trust me, Jenny, the Tremorton mall is so huge that it's even got it's own indoor theme park!

Tucker Carbunlkle

  • Hey uh... Jenny, I just wanted to say that, I'm sorry. I thought that you were some, "Hideous Bloodthirsty Robot", but, you're actually kinda cool.

Queen Vexus

  • Hello there... XJ-9, is it?
  • Ugh! Do I really need to do everything around here all by myself?
  • You two should've stayed locked up. Now you will feel my wrath and power!

Dialogue

  • Nora Wakeman: XJ-9? (Jenny hears and runs into her closet off-screen)
  • Nora: (Nora opens the door angry). It seems that some young robot has forgotten the rules of this household. You were built and designed for only one purpose. To be the secret protector of the planet, Earth, and mobile response unit for the home's Worldwide Emergency Crisis Control Center. When the center detects trouble in the world, you are permitted to leave the house only in secret. Unless you're out saving the world, you should stay in your room. You also must stay hidden away from the existence of the human population, especially teenagers!
  • (Nora opens the closet where Jenny was hiding in).
  • Nora: Do I make myself clear, XJ-9?
  • XJ-9/Jenny: It's Jenny.
  • Nora: What?
  • Jenny: Jenny! I prefer to be called Jenny, because I changed my name to that! Remember?
  • Nora: Ugh!
  • Jenny: Well, where's the trouble anyway? All I get to do is stay in this room my whole life, and only get to go out to prevent minor chaos to the planet? So I only left my room just to try and give a ball back to a kid, do you hear any alarms going off? No! What about those C-class asteroids you keep telling me to destroy? Why should I go out stopping them? They just burn up in the atmosphere leaving nothing but a tiny rock.
  • Nora: But XJ-Ni-
  • Jenny: Jenny!
  • Nora: Right, right right right.
  • Jenny: Why can't I just go live in the world like normal teenagers do? Would anybody knowing my existence lead to the government taking me hostage and experimenting with me? Everyday, it's always the same message to me every morning! (Plays recording while taking and wearing her mom's glasses). XJ-9, good morning! Be sure to check the Control Center for any crisis, but be back before 5 P.M., and don't let any human see you! (normal voice). Meanwhile, nobody but you even knows my existence and my name, and all I get to do to know people is online, with a blog only? That is so low-class! (Picks up a TremorTEEN magazine), I wanna have real friends, and hang out like every other teenager in Tremorton. (sighs in disbelief). But who on Earth would wanna hang out with an ugly super-powered hunk of metal like me? (uses laser to destroy mirror).
  • Nora: Oh, honey, I understand how you feel. Your powers are still developing, and it's still bound to be a confusing time. But, when you get a little bit older, you'll finally see things my way. Now be a good robot and check those monitors.
  • Jenny: Yes, mom.
  • Nora: That's my XJ-9.
  • Jenny: My name is Jenny.
  • (Jenny sighs while she walks to her record player).
  • Jenny: I just wish someone would understand how I feel.
  • Brad: I wish so too.
  • Jenny: Huh? (Jenny turns around to see Brad gone, she walks and closes the window, and plays a record, which is Out From The Deep by Enigma).

  • (Brad is outside of the Wakeman residence looking through Jenny's window).
  • Brad: Okay, so it turns out that this, "Hideous Bloodthirsty Robot" Tucker keeps talking about is actually a lonely teenage robot. She must be sleeping right now. Hmm... If I can just... (Brad silently opens the window). Bingo!
  • (Brad jumps in her room, and bangs his head).
  • Brad: Augh! (loudly).
  • Jenny: (Wakes up). Wha-? (Activates built-in flashlight on head) Who's there? Show yourself!
  • (Jenny is shocked to see Brad in her room).
  • Jenny: Oh-
  • Brad: My-
  • Jenny & Brad: God!
  • (Jenny and Brad walk close to each other).
  • Jenny & Brad: I-I don't believe it!
  • Jenny: A real-life teenager! (with Brad).
  • Brad: A real-life robot! (with Jenny).
  • Jenny & Brad: Whoa! Look at that! And those! And that hair! (laughs).
  • Nora: XJ-9?
  • Jenny: Uh-oh! Hide!
  • (Nora opens the door and turns on the light switch, where she finds Jenny on her bed up, and Brad is gone).
  • Nora: XJ-9, what was that noise?
  • Jenny: It was... Uh..., My text-to-speech program. I use it whenever I feel lonely.
  • Nora: (suspicious). Hmm... (Jenny looks nervous). (now neutral). All right dear, but you should be in bed right now.
  • Jenny: Okay, mom.

  • Brad: Who was that?
  • Jenny: That was my mom, Noreen Wakeman. She doesn't like me making contact with humans, because she thinks I might scare them all. But, she doesn't understand. My name's Jenny, but my mom prefers to call me XJ-9.
  • Brad: Well, I'm Brad Carbunkle. My little brother Tuck said that you scared him. Is that true?
  • Jenny: Well, I heard a shattering downstairs and discovered that it was a ball that belonged to him, but, I didn't mean to scare him off.
  • Brad: Oh, I guess that's true. Cool room by the way. (looks at DJ Mala poster). You into Malachi's music?
  • Jenny: Yeah, he's pretty cool. I mean, he's long gone now, but his music is still hot!
  • Brad: (looks at Enigma records). Enigma, huh? Those guys were awesome!
  • Jenny: I know! It's almost like we were long lost adoptive cousins with so much in common. Do you also have a blog under the alias of an anonymous user?
  • Brad: Yeah!
  • Jenny: What about wanting having real friends to hang out with?
  • Brad: That, too!
  • Jenny: Wow! That's so cool! (sighs in disappointment) Although, I want you to stay, it's really late and my mom might come back up here and catch you. So you should probably leave tonight.
  • Brad: That's alright. But don't worry, I promise to see you again tomorrow, Jen. Good night.
  • Jenny: Wait, uh... (gives Tuck's baseball back to Brad). I believe this belongs to Tuck.
  • Brad: Thanks, Jen.
  • Jenny: Oh, and you also might wanna give him this. (hands him a photo of her and Nora, under it is a label that says, "XJ-9's FIRST BOOT UP: 12/05/2067") It's a photo copy of Mom and me, when I first booted up. I figured you might wanna show this to Tuck when you .
  • Brad: Thanks.

  • Brad: So, I overheard you saying something about a, "metal stomach". Is that true?
  • Jenny: Yeah! My mom gave it to me so I could experience what eating's like, the only problem is that it's lactose-intolerable.
  • Brad: Well, since you have a metal stomach, this is...
  • [Brad puts down a huge burger on a tray in front of Jenny].
  • Brad: …The Super Mega-Sized Joey Burger! They say nobody's ever eaten it fully before, but since you have a metal stomach, I'll bet you can finish it, Jenny!
  • Jenny: You bet I will!

  • (We see Jenny, Brad, and Tuck on a roller-coaster at the mall's indoor theme park).
  • Brad: Are you ready for this, Jen?
  • Jenny: Oh, yeah!

  • Nora: XJ-9! I was just watching the news, and I saw the reporters talking about your- (tries to snatch magazine out of her hands, only to realize that the magazine and Jenny are hologram replicas). (really furious). XJ-9!!!!

  • (Inside a movie theater, Jenny and the Carbunkle brothers are watching a movie, which is Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure).
  • Bill (Archived Footage): Okay, look around, see what you think. We'll be back-
  • Jenny: (whispers). Oh, so I get the plot of this movie now. These two kids are travelling through time to collect historical figures that they need for their history class presentation.
  • Brad: (whispers). Yup.
  • Cluster Guard #1: Vexus, XJ-9 and the human boy have escaped, and judging by their direction, they could be heading towards the cockpit.
  • Vexus: (on radio) Alright, just don't let them escape, because from reading the Robot Girl's memory, she has some weapons under that steel skin of her's.

  • Nora: XJ-9!!! (furious)
  • (Nora comes out of her car angry at Jenny).
  • Nora: Young lady, what is the meaning of this?!
  • Jenny: Mom, it's-
  • Nora: No buts, young lady! Did you really think I wouldn't find out about any of your current activity? I had accessed your memory after I discovered that holographic fake you put in your room. Leaving your room, encountering the human population, using a disguise to fit in, and even opening a bank account without my permission?! I tried to warn you but you didn't listen! You have left me no choice! I am going to dismantle you permanently, young lady! Or should I say, soon-to-be-dismantled robot!
  • Jenny: But Mom, you can't just-
  • Nora: (grabs Jenny and drags her to her car). I said no buts! I will wipe everyone's memory of your existence, and you will never see the light of day or the dark of night ever again!
  • Dean Richardson: Now wait just a minute here! (Nora stops for a moment) Are you the, Noreen Wakeman, former scientist for the Skyway Patrol, and designer of the highly controversial Armageddroid?
  • Nora: How do you know that?
  • Dean: Don't be ridiculous, I have read almost every magazine featuring you on the front cover. Are you saying that Jenny, or, XJ-9 as you call her, is one of your creations?
  • Nora: Indeed, it is, but you will forget all abo-
  • Mall Performer: Hey! I recognize that girl, she's the girl that gave me a cheque of 7-k that I used to open my own record label, and the girl I saw busting out sick moves at the arcade!
  • Brit: And I recognize that deviant girl from the mall that I never knew was a robot.
  • Tiffany: Yeah! I even overheard that girl talking about some, "Metal Stomach", which could possibly explain why she was the first person to ever finish a Mega Sized Joey Burger. Though, to be honest, we'll make an exception just this once.
  • Nora: Wait. Are you saying that-
  • Arcade Manager: It's not just that, Wakeman. If your creation was built to save lives for real emergencies, then it saved my problem, which, to me, felt like a real emergency. My arcade down at the mall was losing customers, but if that robot hadn't accidentally revealed her existence there, my arcade would've bit the dust.
  • Male Teenager: Also, while I was at the same place, she busted some sick moves on Dance Party 4. I never expected a robot girl like yours to do that.
  • Female Teenager: Trust me, she is the most wicked robot I've ever seen! She even kicked that evil alien queen's butt back into space. Also, if you like, deactivate her, we will like, protest against it.
  • Nora: XJ-9, are you saying that all of these people... Are actually saying that you're not afraid of my daughter for being a robot?
  • Jenny: They all are, mom.
  • Nora: Oh, honey. All this time I thought no one would accept for who your are, or your actions.
  • Jenny: It's alright, mom. I thought the same thing too, until I met these two.
  • Nora: Bradley, Tucker? You two were the first humans to come in contact with XJ-9?
  • Brad: That's right!
  • Tuck: And trust us, she's no hideous bloodthirsty robot. She's a teenage robot.
  • Nora: You know what. I guess you're actually right for once, XJ-9. Or should I say... Jenny.
  • Jenny: You mean, my preferred name?
  • Nora: That's right. (hugs Jenny). You do know I might only call you Jenny once, right?
  • Jenny: I know. But I don't care about that anymore.
