The 16-bit versions of NARC were ports of the 1988 arcade game of the same name for the SNES, Theorysonic Codear, Century 16 and Sega Genesis.
The SNES, Codear and Century 16 versions were ported by Introware from the Commodore Amiga version, and the Sega Genesis version is ported by Arc Developments from the original arcade version. The SNES, Codear and Century 16 versions were published by Acclaim Entertainment and the Sega Genesis version was published by Acclaim's Flying Edge label. Both were released in 1992, two years after Rare's NES version was released.
As for the SNES, Codear and Century 16 versions, it was composed by vetaran Introware composer Eeli Ikäheimo, while the Sega Genesis version is composed by British composer Mark Cooksey.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is the same as the arcade versions, but downgraded to fit the console's resolutions. The antics were recolored and changed for the SNES version to fit Nintendo's censorship guidelines, like the NES version.
