Operation Goose - The Ride is a indoor steel roller coaster located at Alex McCufferty's Wonderworld in Camberley, England. It opened on the park's opening date on April 3rd, 2009 and it is based off the 2003 American television series of the same name. The original cast of the show have also reprised their roles for this attraction.

The ride's layout is very similar to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Xpress Platform 13 at Walibi Holland, only that it is a bit faster and longer than the mentioned rides.

Ride experience[]

Queue[]

When guests enter the que line, they walk into a recreation of the iconic ITF base of operations from Operation Goose, which ranges from the control centre to the armoury. It is often decorated with memorabillia related to the show such as firearms, outfits and pictures of key events in the series. There are also mounted televisions set up at the top that play clips from the show and interviews from the characters about the mission the guests will embark in, along with safety information about the ride.

Guests will eventually be stopped by a staff member and will be escorted into a pre show area which can hold up to 30 people at once.

Pre Show[]

Once the doors are closed behind the guests, Zabryn (Zahra Oakley) comes and tests the camera for any interference. After that, She welcomes the guests onto becoming volunteers for the Regularian ITF (International Task Force) and starts to brief them on their mission, but Goose (Gustav Smith) interupts her before she can start speaking. Zabryn gets a bit annoyed and says: "Lemme speak first, Goose! I'll help you with those recruits in here!". The pair continues to brief the guests anyway. They tell the guests that a dangerous group associated with a unnamed criminal is planning to detonate a bomb in London and that they need their help to stop them. Goose tells them about the ride vehicle they will board and how he will stay in touch with the guests through radio. He is then escorted by 2 heavily armed soldiers out of the room. Zabryn then tells the riders safety information ("Once the gates have opened, be sure to board the vehicle in a respectful manner and pull down your restraint! If you can't reach 'em, then ask a safety attendent for help!" and "Place all your bags and loose articles on the conveyer belt on the left, that way, you can retrieve them once you get out!") and wishes them good luck on their mission. The gates infront of the guests open and leads them into the loading bay, where they will board the vehicle.

Main Ride[]

Once all the guests are secured and all safety checks have passed,The train dispatches from the station, turns left and enters a launch tunnel where Goose tests his radio equipment and recaps the riders on their mission. Once the train is ready to go, an alarm sounds and the tunnel's lights flicker in a way that makes it look like it is "charging up". A "powering up" sound is heard, while Goose says: "They're sending us in! EVERYONE, KEEP YOUR HEADS BACK AND HOLD ON TIGHT, WE ARE CLEARED FOR DEPLOYMENT IN 5....4....3...2....1...." The dialogue said causes the car to push back up a bit to prepare for launch. Once the launch area turns dark, a "ping" noise is heard and the ride vehicle makes a roaring noise as it launches from 0-57 mph in 2.8 seconds and as it goes on, The ride's soundtrack (depending on the Operator's choice) plays while the tunnel's lights changes to a flash and into an orange-white "warping" pattern. A picture is also taken of the riders by a hidden camera in the area.

The ride starts it's course by going into a "sea-serpent" roll and then a series of overbanked twists and turns. During the ride, there are lighting effects, strobes, smoke effects and glow-in-the-dark cutouts of London's cityscapes and attractions, the enemy's car and loud gunfire. On the radio, Goose tells them to push them off the road when he hears the gunfire and to keep chasing them until they loose speed. The ride comes into a block break which slows down the train and Goose tells them that the bomb has been neutralized, The ride continues on into it's last inversion, a corkscrew and some more twists and turns until it stops on the final brakes. A skidding and crash noise is heard and the lights flicker in time to these effects. While coming into the unload station, Goose congratulates the guests on a job well done and to not worry about the bomb as it won't go off anytime soon. Guests would then exit the ride vehicle, collect their belongings and exit through a walkway into the gift shop, where they will retrieve their ride photo.
