Ostreaming is an Ostlandic streaming platform that provides with a monthly flat pay streaming of multimedia content (TV series, animated series, movies and documentaries) on demand over the Internet. It was launched on August 1, 2010. Available for PC, Android, iOS and Windows Phone (untill 2020) and in 2012, a version for the Nintendo 3DS portable console was still active.

History

Previous development

The executives of Ost-Sat konsern kept the project in recession for one month until it was approved as the official project of the company, until in 2007 the development of the application began.

The company was founded by Ostland programmer Loyd Strodhe employee and programmer of the Ost-Sat konsern. Who wanted to develop an online streaming service for their country, where they could watch the programming of the Ost-Sat channels.

Ostreaming began development in 2007 and ended in 2009.

Pre-Beta testing

The application tests began on February 10, 2009.

As revealed by Loyd Strodhe, there were 7 beta versions tested by executives and company staff in total confidentiality during 2009.

That same year, since November 2009, what was to be the eighth version of the application was being developed, which was completed in April 2010 and internal tests continued until the platform's Beta launch.

Beta

The platform was launched as a Beta app in the App Store and Android Market (Current Google Play) on March 20, 2010.

It was not required to register and only the channels of the Ost-Sat grid could be seen live and very few programs separately.

The Beta age ended on August 1, 2010, when the App was updated to version 1.1, and registration began to be required.

In 2011, the Web version for PC was launched.
