Hans Tobiasson (born September 21, 1967) is a Swedish record producer and songwriter known by the stage name Radioeye.
Early life[]
Hans Tobiasson was born in Alingsås, Sweden near Gothenburg and raised on a farm in the town of Töllsjö. His older brother lived with him as well. He has stated that in his early childhood, he listened to artists such as Ted Gärdestad, ABBA and Björn Skifs, but then his brother introduced him to other artists through record club releases mailed from Stockholm, some of them being The Human League, the Culture Club, Alphaville, Killing Joke, Duran Duran, The Clash and then one day Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's The Message, which is a favorite of Tobiasson's. By the time he was 17, Tobiasson was earning money as a hip-hop club DJ in Gothenburg.
Career[]
Radioeye & Wild Dog[]
Together with Stellan "Wild Dog" von Bahr, he formed the songwriting/production/DJing/remixing duo Radioeye & Wild Dog in 1987, making a name by remixing for Swedish artists such as Roxette (for whom their remix of "The Look" topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart at the height of the runaway popularity of the original version), Johan "Stakka Bo" Renck and Ace of Base. In 1993, they had a minor hit in the US as the producers for Nils Wallenberg's reggae/blue-eyed soul cover of the Hair/Oliver song "Good Morning Starshine".
Radioeye & Cohen[]
In 1995, Tobiasson moved to Los Angeles. He required a new instrumentalist/co-songwriter, and found South African expat musician Sidney Cohen. Together, they formed the production/songwriting duo Radioeye & Cohen.
