Raptor Panic is a video game franchise currently made by Sega and formerly made by Sierra On-Line and Capcom.
It is about a man who works at a local museum in a large town in Florida, but notices green goop going around the floor. He then realizes that some crazy raptors had came out of a portal emitting odd slime. His job is to slay or capture the raptors. This was the plot in the first game, however in later games this changed. In the second game, the entire town was under siege by a giant mutant raptor who is keen on destroying everything in the Atlantic Ocean.The latest installment is Raptor Panic: Remasted which is developed by Sega and this time published by Brolik (they discontinued the SharkRipper line in 2009 and became a third party developer and publisher). It was released for the PlayStation 4 on February 19, 2019 and was later released for PCs, the Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch on March 15, 2019. A 3DS version of the remaster was planned, but was scrapped later.
The Raptor Panic game for the Dreamcast was developed by Capcom and was published by Vivendi Games. It was released in 2000 and a port for the PS2, the Xbox and the Gamecube was released in 2004. The first Raptor Panic game that was on the PlayStation was Raptor Panic 3: Beware the Horde. It was released in 1997, when Capcom got the rights to the franchise from Sierra.
The name of the man was revealed to be Rick in Raptor Panic 4: All-Out-Chaos for the Dreamcast and PlayStation in 2000.
The Xbox version of the 5th installment of Raptor Panic was developed by Capcom and published by Midway.
